The Banner’s Biggest Ever Bring a bike Back bonanza!
All ages- 70 – 100 participants, to increase the amount of bike owners in the county by making cheap and free bikes available
Location: Gaelscoil Gort Road, Ennis
Time: 11am – 2pm
Free entry:
Bring your unused bike and find a new owner for it
4 bike mechanics there on the day to fix bikes and pass them on. Donations to be made to Clare Crusaders on the day
Puncture repair and brake repair demos
Free cycle training to help increase your road cycling savy
Free raffle for all who attend- vouchers for bike shops, helmets, lights etc
If you have a bike you dont want or are looking for a bike for free or a rock bottom price this is the event for you
Bike Auction at 1pm
Brought to you by An Taisce Green-Schools and Environment Section of Clare Co. Council. All proceeds go to Clare Crusaders
Sunday 19th June
Free Bike repair workshop
All ages 60- 70 people, to repair as many bikes as possible on the day to increase bike usage in the area
Location: Teach Ceol, Ennistymon
Time: 2pm – 5pm
Free entry and raffle for bike accessories for all who attend
Talks by cyclists and maps of cycling routes on the day
4 bike mechanics present on the day to help, guide and fix bikes
Free bike parts available on the day to help you get back on the road
If you enjoy cycling come along on the day and lend a hand

Wednesday 22nd June- National COW day
( Cycle on Wednesdays) and Community Cycles in Shannon, Kilrush and Ennis
1000 children from 4th , 5th and 6th class in 20 schools and 300 other members of the community, to show people safe cycling routes available in their home town
Children from all the schools in these 3 towns will be doing a 7km cycle around their town and all staff, parents and members of the community invited to come along and cycle with them on the day.
The Gardaí will be there to help with road safety, the Tidy towns groups will be providing refreshments for everyone half way around
The town Councils are letting us use their spaces to gather
Shannon: Depart from Shannon Town Council at 11am- led by Eugene O Shea, road Engineer with Clare Co. Council- refreshments provided by Shannon Tidy Towns
Ennis: Depart from Co.council offices New Road Ennis at 11am- led by John O Malley Clare Co. Council – refreshments provided by Ennis Tidy Towns
Kilrush: Depart at 11am from The Creek Lodge Adventure Centre, Cappa road- led by Róisín Ní Gháirbhith, An Taisce Green-Schools Travel and West Clare Cycling Club
Refreshments provided by Kilrush tidy towns and bike powered smoothie maker smoothies provided by Brothers Of Charity Kilrush
Saturday 25th June
Teens on Wheels
60 teenagers between 11 and 16, to encourage teenagers to resist getting driven to the beach and to cycle their instead
All teenagers welcome to cycle 7km Ennistymon- Lahinch- Ennistymon Loop
All entrants get a free T-Shirt and raffle tickets to win phone credit, locks lights etc
3 groups- Under 12, 14, 16 – spot prizes for fastest, slowest, funkiest bike, coolest clothes, safest cyclist etc
Organised by An Taisce Green-Schools Travel Officer, Teenagers from Mary Immaculate Seconday school and Ennistymon Vocational School, ( both on the Green-Schools Travel flag) and Burren Cycling Club
Sunday 26th June
Community and Family Cycle, swim and Picnic- Ennistymon to Lahinch beach
1pm Ennistymon Church Carpark- everyone of every age welcome, brought to you by Transtition Town Ennistymon and An Taisce Green-Schools Travel and supported by the Gardaí
50 people of all ages- to show them how easy it is to cycle to their local beach instead of driving there
