Waterford City

Waterford City Council is proud to host a range of activities for cyclists young and old, and for the first time Cycle Training with bicycles provided for use. So see below for the range events planned and feel free to come along and enjoy.
Refreshments shall be provided at all events together with spot prizes.
 
Please note all activities are FREE
 
Cycle Training Day at the Regional Sports Centre
 
Venue:    Regional Sports Centre, Cork Road.
Date:      Saturday the 18th of June
Time:      12:00 – 15:00
 
Bring along your 2 – 6 year olds to cycle in comfort in the ‘Road Layout’ with roundabouts, junctions and twisty roads. Lots of fun for the little ones.
Sign up for cycle training with helpful trained personnel to guide and build your confidence (note bicycles shall be provided, limited in number with first come basis). Bring along your own bike to test your new skills and perhaps cycle home with added confidence.
 
 
Spin to Tramore
(originally due to take place on Tuesday but abandoned due to poor weather...hopefully it will be a fine day for Thursday's spin!!) 
Venue:    Waterford Regional Sports Centre (RSC)
Date:      Thursday 23 June
Time:      Departing 18:00, returning at approximately 20:00
 
A nice leisurely spin to Tramore, stop off on the prom for some refreshments and return to RSC. This event is open to all but is particularly aimed at the casual cyclist.  Participant should be at least 8 years old and all under 14s must be accompanied by an adult.
 
 
 
Safe Cycling Festival
 
Venue:    Regional Sports Centre, Cork Road
Date:      Friday the 24th of June
Time:      10am – 1pm
 
Safe Cycling Festival is running for girls and boys in 6th class school who have already received cycling training. This is an invitation only event.
 
 
Comeragh Family Fun day at the RSC
 
Venue:    Regional Sports Centre, Cork Road
Date:      Saturday the 25th of June
Time:      12:00 – 15:00
 
Come along and join in with fun races, obstacle courses and lots of fun on two wheels. With music and refreshments provided it is guaranteed to enjoyable for young and old. Don’t forget to bring trikes, small bikes etc for the fun pretend road layout for the 2 – 7 year olds.
 
Sunday City Spin
 
Venue:    Peoples Park, Newtown Road 
Date:      Sunday the 26th of June
Time:      Depart 12:00, returning at approximately 14:30
 
Following the same route as the last 2 years, this spin is takes in the cycle path on the outer ring road. Stop included midway to allow for rest and refreshments. Participant should be at least 8 years old and all under 14s must be accompanied by an adult.
